Kilifi County is taking significant measures to ensure that its Anti-Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Policy is inclusive and comprehensive. Chief Officer Ms. Agnetta Karembo recently participated in an important review meeting with stakeholders and representatives of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) to enhance the policy, ensuring that it addresses the specific needs and vulnerabilities of PWDs.
The meeting was focused on refining the policy to ensure disability inclusion, with a specific emphasis on designing interventions and programs that explicitly cater to PWDs. This effort marks the final review stage of the policy, which is on track to be launched soon.
Chief Officer Karembo emphasized the significance of this inclusion, affirming Kilifi County’s commitment to reducing PWDs’ vulnerability to abuse. Through these initiatives, the county aims to offer stronger protection and support for all residents, ensuring that no one is marginalized in the battle against GBV.
