In a proactive step towards promoting equitable development, CEC Dr Ruth Dama Masha, accompanied by Chief Officers Ms Agnetta Karembo and Mr Naftali Owino, along with other departmental officials, convened a consultative meeting with the Committee of Gender, Culture, Sports, Youth Affairs, and Social Services, under the leadership of Hon. Agnes Sidi. The primary objective of the meeting was to discuss the County’s proposed Budget Estimates for the Financial Year (FY) 2024-2025.
The focus of the deliberations was on the budgetary activities planned for the upcoming financial year, particularly in regard to the initiation of new development projects throughout Kilifi County by the department. The committee underscored the importance of inclusivity, a principle that the department is fully committed to implementing across its various departments to ensure an equitable distribution of resources.
In response to the committee’s suggestions, the department affirmed that the budget implementation would ensure that departmental initiatives receive their due share of County resources, as outlined in the 2024-2025 budget estimates.
