The Pwani Youth Network and VSO worked together with the Department for Women to organize a Kilifi Women Kongamano before International Women’s Day. 60 women from different parts of Kilifi County came together to talk about empowerment and making a difference.
At the Kongamano, they talked about important things like menstrual health and the role of education in empowering women. They also discussed civic education, scholarships, and support for women’s well-being. They shared ideas and planned ways to help women in the community.
Ms. Agnetta Karembo, the Chief Officer, spoke at the event about the challenges women face and how important they are in holding society accountable. The women at the event talked openly and shared their experiences, coming up with ways to support each other in their journey towards empowerment and change.
