In an effort to address poverty and utilize local resources, a consultative planning meeting was convened in Rabai Sub County under the leadership of Hon. Naftali Kombo, the MCA of Ruruma Ward, along with Sub county officers from Rabai’s Gender and Youth, Agriculture, and Trade departments. The primary objective of the meeting was to develop a program aimed at educating 30 community groups on agri-business, entrepreneurship, and financial management.
Through collaboration with various departments of the Kilifi County Government, the initiative intends to empower residents by capitalizing on their expertise in food production and promoting investment opportunities. Ruruma Ward, renowned for its agricultural pursuits, has allocated resources such as tractors and seedlings to bolster farming practices.
By employing group dynamics and offering entrepreneurship training, the initiative strives to instill a business-oriented mindset within the community. The anticipated outcome is a well-informed community equipped with the necessary knowledge and tools to prosper in agri-business, thereby paving a sustainable path out of poverty by effectively utilizing the available resources.
