Rising Winners Youth Meeting

During a breakfast meeting with key county officials, including CEC Dr. Ruth Dama Masha ,CEC Hon. Felkin Kaingu, CEC Hon Clara Chonga, and CEC Hon Peter Mwarogo, Adolescent Girls and Young Women, passionately expressed their desire for meaningful engagement in decision-making spaces.
The event, hosted by stakeholders from Rising Winners Youth Empowerment initiative and champion representatives from Kilifi South, Kaloleni, and Rabai sub-county, highlighted the urge for collaboration in various sectors.
During the engagement, the young advocates called for partnerships in health, education, ICT, trade, cooperative development, and gender to coordinate and implement programs and projects. They emphasized the importance of utilizing existing platforms, such as Technical Working Groups, to access and disseminate information at the grassroots level.
The Kilifi County Government acknowledges the urgency of addressing intersectional issues through the integration of departmental services. Departments represented at the meeting expressed their commitment to enhancing gender equity, education, vocational training, and socio-economic development. The focus is on promoting meaningful engagement and participation in youth friendly spaces, resources centers, business training, and capacity building for sustainability.
The county, through the department is also set to map out its youth population, coordinating activities with other departments to ensure a comprehensive approach.We also acknowledge the presence of The State Department Director of Gender and Affirmative Action, Ms. Georgina Dulu who was part of the engagement.
