The Steering Committee for the Kenya-Finland Program together with the programme management team held instructional and experience sharing sessions with participants from mediation and counselling. During these sessions, participants shared the knowledge and insights they gained from their involvement in mediation and counselling practices. They discussed the important role mediation plays in facilitating productive dialogue and achieving mutually beneficial agreements.
Additionally, insights from counselling practices highlighted the significance of empathy, active listening, and addressing underlying issues to promote understanding and reconciliation, ultimately strengthening the community’s response and preventing gender-based violence.
Distinguished attendees included the First Lady of Kilifi County, H.E. Mrs. Sussane Mung’aro, County Executive Committee Member Dr. Ruth Dama Masha, Chief Officer Ms. Agnetta Karembo, and Director of Gender and Youth Mr. Cyrillus Mwangome.
