The Department of Culture enthusiastically took part in the 2024 Cultural Day at Kingsway Academy Malindi, which focused on the theme “Kikwehu na Kihenza” to honor the diverse heritage and traditions of our communities.
The event featured cultural foods and dances representing the Kamba, Kikuyu, Giryama, Digo, Swahili, Luo, and Taita communities, showcasing the shared heritage of our region.
Mr. Fred Khonde, a Cultural Officer, spoke on behalf of Hon. Dr. Ruth Dama Masha, highlighting the importance of working together to identify, preserve, and promote cultural practices in Kilifi County. He praised Kingsway Academy for their ongoing efforts in supporting cultural activities and acknowledged their 5th successful Cultural Day event.
The Kilifi County Government is dedicated to collaborating with partners to enhance future cultural events that celebrate diversity, preserve heritage, and inspire future generations to value and uphold traditions.
