The Kilifi County Anti-Gender-Based Violence (GBV) policy has been officially presented to the department by the policy writing team. The handover ceremony, attended by CECM Dr. Ruth Dama Masha and County Solicitor Mr. Faraji Chipinde, signifies a significant achievement in the county’s endeavors to combat GBV.
This policy serves as a comprehensive framework designed to prevent and address GBV within the county. Dr. Masha, the CEC, commended the team for their dedication and underscored the policy’s importance in advancing gender equality initiatives and fostering safer communities.
Looking ahead, the department is making preparations for the formal launch of the policy, which is anticipated to strengthen multi-sectoral partnerships, mobilize resources, and launch awareness campaigns throughout the county. The policy will play a crucial role in guiding future initiatives and programs aimed at eliminating GBV and empowering survivors, marking the commencement of its implementation phase across Kilifi County.
