The Kilifi Gender Technical Writing Team recently organized a successful two-day workshop with a diverse group of experts from civil society organizations and County government officials. The workshop aimed to create a roadmap for implementing the anti-GBV policy in Kilifi County.
Led by experts in various fields such as legal, project management, health, monitoring and evaluation, social accountability, communications, public participation, and policy, the workshop highlighted a collaborative effort to address GBV comprehensively. Key participants included Mr. Cyrillus Mwangome, the Director of Gender and Youth, as well as Gender and Youth Officers Ms. Prudence Kwekwe and Ms. Marilyne Faida.
The workshop focused on developing a structured plan to effectively implement the Kilifi County Anti-GBV Policy, which will be crucial in shaping the county’s approach to GBV prevention and response.
The goals of the implementation framework are to improve clarity, coordination, collaboration, efficiency, and effectiveness in addressing Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in Kilifi County. The aim is to establish a cohesive strategy, define roles, and enforce strong accountability measures among stakeholders. By working together and using evidence-based strategies, the framework strives to optimize resources and outcomes, creating a safer and more inclusive community for all Kilifi County residents.
