Kilifi County is nearing the completion of its Anti-Gender-Based Violence (GBV) policy after a successful validation workshop today. In collaboration with Akili Dada, the event marked a key milestone in finalizing the policy. Young women mentees led the session, bringing together key stakeholders, including Mr. Cyrillus Mwangome, Director of Gender and Youth Affairs, representatives from the State Department of Gender and Affirmative Action, and civil society organizations (CSOs).
Discussions focused on addressing emerging GBV trends and closing policy gaps. Stakeholders contributed insights through group discussions and presentations, ensuring the document’s inclusivity. This validation is a crucial step before the policy’s expected approval by Governor Gideon Maitha Mung’aro.
The active involvement of participants reflects Kilifi’s commitment to tackling GBV, and the County Government appreciates the collaborative feedback received throughout the process.
