The Kilifi County Technical Working Group (TWG) recently held its 3rd quarterly meeting with the goal of advancing development initiatives and promoting community engagement. The agenda was carefully planned to address urgent issues and drive progress within Kilifi. CEC Dr. Ruth Dama Masha, Chief Officer Ms. Agetta Karembo, Director of Gender and Youth Mr. Cyrillus Mwangome, as well as representatives from county departments and stakeholders, were all present at the session.
Participants at the meeting reviewed the achievements and challenges of the second quarter, with a focus on highlighting the International Women’s Day (IWD) events that demonstrated the TWG’s commitment to gender equality and women’s empowerment. Thematic presentations allowed experts to share their insights, leading to informed discussions and strategic planning for impactful initiatives.
A significant moment came during the dissemination of baseline survey data on Building Adolescent Girls’ Power in Sokoni Ward, which facilitated evidence-based decision-making and efficient resource allocation for community needs. The validation of the TWG reporting tool improved accountability and transparency, enabling accurate tracking of progress. The release of the Terms of Reference (TOR) highlighted the TWG’s dedication to transparency and inclusivity, promoting collaboration towards common objectives.
The session concluded with a decision to create a data repository for target groups based on Kilifi County’s ongoing programs, as well as establishing standard operating procedures for the TWG. Through ongoing collaboration and innovation, the TWG continues to empower communities and drive sustainable development in Kilifi County.
