The Kilifi County Government, represented by its Department of Gender, extends sincere appreciation for its significant involvement in the recent Global Learning Forum hosted by the Aga Khan Foundation. The forum’s conclusion featured the development of actionable plans to advance Gender Equality in partnership with civil society organizations.
With the participation of 145 delegates from 15 countries across Africa and Asia, the five-day forum facilitated by the Aga Khan Foundation and Global Affairs Canada provided a platform for strategic discussions on global Gender Equality initiatives. Delving into critical themes such as engaging men and boys in transforming gender norms, empowering women in leadership, addressing Gender-Based Violence, utilizing media advocacy, and assessing women’s representation in media coverage.
The commendable commitment of the Kilifi County Government, alongside counterparts from Mombasa, in exploring avenues to support Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in gender programming underscores the workshop’s success. This collaborative effort emphasizes the importance of collective action in advancing Gender Equality globally.
