Women from Magarini sub-county made a big impact at an event before International Women’s Day 2024 in Gongoni ward, Mapimo VTC. They talked about important topics like good parenting, education, stopping gender-based violence, and helping the environment by planting mangroves. Their goal is to have sustainable livelihoods by growing and selling tree seedlings.
The event was well-attended, with Chief Officer Ms. Agnetta Karembo and other county officials, ward administrators, and local chiefs showing their support for the women’s work.
Empowering women was a key focus, with a call for them to get involved in public discussions and have a say in decision-making. They were also encouraged to be progressive, independent, and empower themselves to achieve true equality and freedom.
