In an outstanding demonstration of skill and dedication, students from Majaoni Mixed Secondary School in Tezo Ward have emerged as national champions in the Taarab performance category “Tudumishe Amani” in Class 446K at the recently concluded National Music Festivals in Eldoret. This victory has granted them the privilege of representing both Kilifi County and Kenya at the upcoming East Africa Music Festival in Jinja, Uganda, scheduled for August 24th to September 2nd.
A delegation, led by Her Excellency Deputy Governor Flora Mbetsa Chibule and accompanied by CEC Dr. Ruth D. Masha , CEC for Education and ICT Hon. Felkin Kaingu, and Ms. Catherine Dzame of Malindi Nest, visited the school to commend the students for their outstanding achievement, acknowledging their diligence and talent.
Under the leadership of H.E. Governor Gideon Maitha Mung’aro , Kilifi County has placed a strong emphasis on fostering young talent as a crucial aspect of its educational and cultural advancement. The county government is dedicated to supporting initiatives that empower youth through the arts and creativity, with plans in motion to enhance the county’s multi-talented hall to facilitate the nurturing of local talent.
