The Aga Khan Global Learning Forum saw the enthusiastic involvement of Mr. Cyrillus Mwangome, the Director of Gender and Youth, and Gender and Youth Officers Ms. Maryline Faida and Ms. Prudence Kwekwe. This important event gathered experts who aimed to empower women leaders and facilitate leadership growth through “fem-torship”, thus creating an opportunity for the exchange of knowledge and perspectives.
The main topics addressed included the need for equal access to leadership development programs for women, the importance of sustaining initiatives that advocate for women in leadership roles, and the specific advantages of fem-torship.
These discussions are of great importance to the Kilifi County Government as they are determined to strengthen initiatives that promote young girls and women in achieving leadership positions through the Department of Gender. The results of these meetings are expected to lead to improved empowerment programs and policies in Kilifi, ultimately contributing to a society that is more inclusive and fair.
